Competition Rules
The New Moods of Mann Photographic Competition is owned by Moods of Mann Limited (hereinafter called The Owners). Registered office, IOMA House, Hope Street, Douglas, Isle of Man IM1 1AP. The competition is open to anyone except employees of Moods of Mann Limited.
Entries
Entries must be Digital images submitted on CD, DVD or online.
Entries can posted to Moods of Mann Ltd, IOMA House, Hope Street, Douglas, IM1 1AP, delivered to Keigs Photography, Strand Street, or uploaded online (see DIGITAL IMAGES below). Entries for the Writing Competition can be emailed to competitions<at>moodsbooks[dot]com, posted to the above address, or dropped in to the Lexicon Bookshop, Strand Street. Closing date is 30th August 2008.
N.B. Entries will not be returned, so ensure you retain copies.
Labelling
Your name and address and email or telephone number must be clearly written on each disc (CD or DVD) that you enter. If delivering or sending by post put each disc in a separate envelope or case clearly marked with your name and address. Each disc should be accompanied by a list that gives the subject matter of every photograph and details of when and where it was taken. The list should be hard copy of a text file included on the disc. We may wish to contact you for further photographs.
Digital Images
Upload online as directed on moods2.com. Ensure you have original pictures available if your submissions are accepted for prizes or for inclusion in the publication.
There is a maximum file-size limit of 1MB for images that are uploaded online. Also, if you upload an image that is of a higher resolution than 1024 pixels, it will be resized to fit within 1024×1024 pixels.
We will contact you for the highest quality/size copies of any photos you enter that are shortlisted for a book.
Photographs supplied on disc should be of the highest quality (and maximum file-size) that the camera can deliver.
Copyright
You must be the sole author and owner of the copyright for any and all entries submitted by you in whatever format. By entering the competition you acknowledge this fact. By entering the competition you grant to Moods of Mann Limited a non-exclusive, royalty-free, irrevocable licence to reproduce the images for any purpose in connection with The Competition including, but not limited to, the following:-
- Judging the competition
- Display at any exhibition of the winning entries if one should be held.
- Inclusion within the publication New Moods of Mann
- Once only use in any Moods of Mann Calendar
For the avoidance of doubt, The Owners may also utilise images for the purposes of promoting and marketing The Owners, current and future publications.
Other Competitions
A picture that has already won a prize in a major competition (one receiving more than 500 submissions) is not eligible for entry.
Judges
Judges will be appointed by The Owners to choose the winners. The judges' and/or The Owners' decisions on all matters relating to the competition are final and no correspondence will be entered into concerning the competition's judging and organisation. Should the quality of entries fall below the standard required by The Owners, The Owners reserve the right not to award the relative prize(s).
Notification
The entrants of Winning photographs, commended photographs and photographs chosen for inclusion in New Moods of Mann, will be notified in November 2008. The results of the competition will be published in local newspapers and on the Moods of Mann website moodsbooks.com.
Liability
All entries are submitted entirely at the photographer's risk. The Owners will not accept liability for any loss or damage of any images entered in the competition, in whatever format and howsoever caused.
Return of Entries
No entries will be returned.
